Row by Row Exchange
In this quilt, we were suppose to make a row that set the theme for the quilt. I wanted stars for my theme but when I made my row (third row dow) the stars got lost in the design. Everyone made some gorgeous rows, but it didn't have a unifying theme. I ended up repeating the designs of the larger rows with smaller rows in between and surrounding it with flying geese. Everyone else has a wall quilt for there exchange, I ended up with a bed quilt.

This was a challenge by the Badlands Quilters Guild. You were given a season, a color, an object and a technique to be included in your challenge. Mine were, Summer, Hot Magenta, Table, and 9 Patch. The trees and flowers were all done raw edge applique and then stitched over with colored thread.
The quilting in the border was done by couching threads around the edge. Great fun! |

Oriental Stained Glass
This was another challenge by my quild. We had to chose 7 fabrics from a selection of Oriental fabrics to use in a wallhanging. I made my own bias strips for the leading from a dark purple fabric and used the clover tool with fusible adhesive. I quilted all the pieces with metalic thread to give it the sparkle of real stained glass with the light shining through. |

Another Row by Row Exchange
In this quilt I did set a theme, frogs. The third row from the top was my starting row. The border fabric was my inspiration fabric and I asked that the colors be taken from that. It got so bright that I had to tone it down with a little black. The first zigzag border is flying geese. |
