Lectures
Lectures are usually about 45 minutes and Kris will bring a lots of samples if travel permits
Tips & Tricks of Using Exotic Threads
There are so many fun and new threads out there to experiment with. This lecture with talk about the threads available and how they can be used in quilting. We will also look at the possible problems they can create and how to fix those problems.
Borders Make the Quilt
Pieced or appliqueed borders can add so much to a quilt. This lecture contains lots of examples with tips on how to make them fit. Lots of examples will be shown along with were to look for ideas.
Quilt as Desired:
So many patterns say quilt as desired. Of course hand quilting is the first thing to come to mind, but there are so many options out there now. This lecture will take a look at those options and give you suggestions on how to determine who you want your quilt to look. Short arm and long arm quilting will be discusses.
Classes
Ozark Maple Leaf

This class uses those 5" squares and will include a fabric exchange. The difficulty of this quilt is determined by your choice of background fabric. For a more difficult quilt use different colored backgrounds as the example shows or use similar backgrounds for an easier quilt. This quilt was made from the Nickel Quilts book.
Level: Intermediate.
Full Day Class
Machine Quilting

Do you hate to mark your quilt before you quilt it? This class will look at ways to eliminate marking or to use minimal marking to allow more time for quilting.
Level: Some experience in free motion sewing is helpful but not necessary.
There is a class fee for handouts.
Full Day Class
Quilt As You Go Stained Glass

This style of stained glass is fun and easy to do. You have your choice of patterns. Depending on how fast they work, students can have a wall hanging close to finished.
Level: Beginner.

Woven Vest

This vest was made by weaving strips of fabric that were free hand cut with a rotary cutter. Using hand dyed and batik fabric, it creates a stunning vest. You may choose to embellish heavily with threads or simply sew it with clear monofiliment thread
Level: Confident Beginner
